Many thanks to Tooting Lido’s South London Swimming Club for hosting another wonderful Mid-Summer Relays. This race happens every June with clubs invited from all over London and beyond. Forty teams took part comprising of four swimmers who take it in turns to swim four lengths each, sixteen in total. It is an impressive sight to see so many swimmers, 160 altogether, making the most of this impressive 100 yard pool. Not too many head on collisions this year thankfully.

Clubs represented were ourselves, as well as Barnes Swimming Club, Clapham Chasers, Crystal Palace Triathletes, Hounslow Masters, Met Police, Nuffield Merton Abbey Swim Club, Out to Swim, Serpentine Swimming Club, South London Swimming Club, Spencer Swim Team, Wimbledon Windmilers and Windrush Triathlon Club.

Team Brockwell (Anne Fison, Peter Kindersley, Penny Prodger and Tim Sutton) came 14th in our age category of 18, and 31st out of the total 40 teams. CLICK HERE for the official results.

We are hoping to enter more teams for this Tooting event in 2020 (please get in touch) and we also need to work on some more inventive names, how about All’s well that’s Brockwell? Any other suggestions welcome.
