The South London Swimming Club kicked off this year’s season of local races with their annual Heron Cup at Tooting Bec Lido. The water was cold and the weather was wet, but not enough to dampen the spirits of the participating clubs which included Out to Swim, Serpentine, Clapham Chasers, South London Swimming Club and the Brockwell Swimmers.

Our team included eight swimmers Angus Fox, Eleanor Lavelle, Federica Romaniello, Felix Cracknell, Jocelyn Harriman, Molly Lueck, Simon Panther and Tim Sutton, plus race coordinator Nick Berry who managed to control the chaos of this fast paced event.

Although we only lost one race, we still managed to maintain our usual position of fifth out of five. Go Team Brockwell!

A big thank you to South London Swimming Club for organising the event and we look forward to reciprocating with our Brockwell Spring Club Relays Thursday 23rd May and our Brockwell Summer Club Relays Thursday 22nd August.
