Swimming the Serpentine 2023

Congratulations to our club members who braved the murky waters of London’s Serpentine Lake on Saturday 16th September 2023; Maeve Halpin (.5 mile), Thomas Mead (1 mile), Timothy Sutton (2 miles) and Grace Ward (2 miles).

After earlier warning that the event might be cancelled due to algae, swimmers were given the green light two days before that they would be swimming. It was again very well organised by the London Marathon team with all the waves of swimmers starting on time, changing facilities, bag drop area, safety boats and a nice shiny medal at the end.
