Brockwell Swimmers Social Media Policy
BACKGROUND
Brockwell Swimmers club recognises that the use of networking sites is a growing phenomenon and is increasingly used as a communication tool by our members. With the development of our own web site it has highlighted that whilst these technologies provide exciting opportunities, they are accompanied by dangers and negative consequences if abused by users.
This policy will set down guidance for acceptable conduct for members representing Brockwell Swimmers on our web site and Social Media platforms.
TECHNOLOGIES
This policy includes (but is not limited to) the following technologies:
- WordPress
- You Tube
ACCEPTABLE USE
Relevance – Any text or pictures used on the Brockwell Swimmers web site or any of its Social Media platforms must be relevant to the aims and objectives of Brockwell Swimmers club as outlined in its constitution.
Safety – Members must not bully, intimidate, or harass any other member. Text and images must not contain information that is untrue, slanderous, hateful, threatening, pornographic or contain gratuitous violence.
Identity – Never post any personal information about anyone else that leaves the other person vulnerable to online abuse, bullying, identity theft or exposure to inappropriate content.
COMPLAINTS
If you believe information published on the Brockwell Swimmers web site or any of its Social Media platforms breaches any of these rules please contact us. Members reported as breaking any of these rules can have their membership terminated for 12 months (without refund) by a majority vote at the next club general meeting.
