Following the success of last year’s trip Brockwell Swimmers pooled our resources and headed to Hampstead for another day of aquatic frolicking.
First up a wonderful few lengths in the wonderfully shiny (and sparkingly clean) Parliament Hill Lido. All the pool open, two lifeguards, great cafe and wonderful coffee. What more could you ask?
Then off the mixed ponds which luckily is still open to the public. This was closed in our October trip last year as it is ‘Members Only’ in the Winter months.

Final port of call the Men’s and Ladies ponds which have now thankfully re-opened following all the damn work (or “Dam Work!” as some of the locals describe it). Streams of bubbles rising to the surface at certain points which we were told by the life-guard were alligators breathing beneath, but we think is more likely to be the aeration system.
