Another great evening was had at Brockwell Lido on 20th July with our annual Summer Club Relays. This was our greatest number of participating clubs yet which included Clapham Chasers, Crystal Palace Triathletes, Out to Swim, Serpentine Swim, Serpentine Triathletes, Spencer Swim Club, Tri London, Windrush and ourselves Brockwell Swimmers.

The races started prompt at 7pm with the usual set of four person relays followed by the ten person squadron. This year we introduced the “Pot Luck Plunge” where all clubs were given different coloured wrist bands to form a final scratch relay where every club was represented in each team. Could have been pure chaos, but all worked surprisingly well. The winner from this race received a limited edition ‘Barbie Pink’ Brockwell Swimmers cap.

Adding up the scores Out to Swim were declared the final winners, followed by Spencer Swim Club, Crystal Palace Triathletes, Windrush, Serpentine Triathletes, Clapham Chasers, Tri London, Brockwell Swimmers and Serpentine Swim Club, in that order.

A big thank you to all our helpers, time-keepers and volunteers for making this our most enjoyable races yet. We look forward to seeing everyone again for the Brockwell Spring Club Races 2024.
