We have a couple of un-coached swim sessions at JAGs and coach Stephen has set us some drill. All good stuff and something other club member might find useful. Tuesday 27th March 7:30pm

Warm up. 400

Always do a good warm up and this is a real warm up example.

6 lengths FC with a technical mental approach.

4 lengths backstroke.

2 lengths breast.

4 lengths FC Catch up.

Set. 1700

50m x 6/5 by lane kicking with kick board at 1.20/1.30 S&R time.

6 x 50m FC @ 1.30/1.40 Drill/swim. Repeat 3 drills.   Sail, salute, zipper.

6 x 50 FC with stroke count, try tumble turns @ same S&R times.

6 x 50 FC at speed on a longer S&R time but swum to a high heart rate.

200m easy backstroke.

Practice tumble turns.

Practice breaststroke kicking on back with a board. Say 6 x 50. Ensuring knees below surface.

8 lengths FC with a technical mental approach.

4 lengths backstroke.

2 lengths breast.

4 x 50m kick plus 15 secs rest

Set. 2200

6 x 50m FC, drill/swim. Drill is ¾ catch up. @ 1.30

200m FC. Take a time.

100 x 2 FC with 30 secs rest.

50 x 4 with 15 secs rest.

In each case try to better the time you did for the previous one. Measure the 200 distance.

200 backstroke EZ.

Repeat.
