This year Brockwell Swimmers will again be attempting to swim the English Channel as a five person relay to raise money for charity. Are you up for the challenge?

We have booked the Connemara, skippered by Kevin Sherman, for the neap tide 14th August. This is a prime slot to swim but if the weathers does misbehave the swim may be delayed until later in the year.

The twenty and half mile crossing will be swum one hour at a time by each member; e.g. one hour swim then four hours rest. Last year’s successful swim took just over 14 hours. Swimmers must have some experience of sea swimming and be able to manage at least one mile in 40 minutes.

Cost will be £810 per swimmer (non-returnable) plus you need to have completed a witnessed, qualifying, duration swim at 16ºC in open water, and a doctor’s medical. The club will be able to offer assistance and advice on your own personal training and help organise team practice swims. The costs can be spread across three installments.
