In June 2022 Brockwell Swimmers will be sending a five person relay team to swim from Jersey to France and we are looking for swimmers who are up for a challenge. As well as achieving an epic swim you will also be raising money to help buy a new outdoor sauna for the Lido.

We have booked a slot 23rd to 27th June with the Lionheart Pilotage boat which specialises in open water swim trips and skippered by Matthew Clarke. We will make the crossing at some point during those five days dependent on weather conditions. The swim will be done under channel swimming rules so no wet suit allowed. You will also need to complete a cold water test beforehand and medical form.

The team will swim in one hour relay, so each swimmer should do two, or maybe three, stretches with a four hour rest in between. The boat comes fully equipt with:

• Forward cabin with twin/double berths
• Flushing toilet, shower & wash basin
• Hot & cold running water
• Large galley with oven, grill and two gas rings for boiling water etc for feeds.

This really is a challenge of a lifetime and certainly on the tick list of any keen open water swimmer. With the Channel now fully booked until 2025 this will be the ‘go to’ swim for 2022.
