Brockwell Swimmers fourth Open Water adventure will be from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door in Dorset on Sunday 26th August led by coach Stephen Baker. This will be a challenging day so you will need to be a strong swimmer with open water experience.
Following an assessment swim, we will head out from Lulworth Cove and turn West swimming into Stair Hole and the magnificent secret beach under limestone arches and then along about a 2km stretch to the iconic Durdle Door and then through the door to the beach. If the day is fabulous we might just swim back. If once is enough there is a stunning cliff top walk back to Lulworth Cove.
For those less happy to swim in the open sea there is the option of swimming to Stair hole and back, or simply a few laps of Lulworth Cove which is always protected from waves and wind.
As well as your swimming costume, towel, goggles, picnic, etc. we also require you to bring a tow float and a whistle. Steve is organising a discount bulk order so contact us if want to save some money on these. Swim shoes are also a good idea.
Cost per person will be £30 plus petrol money payable via our online Swim Sessions shopping page. We will meet at Brockwell Lido car park leaving promptly at 6:30am (arrive at Lulworth Cove 9am). If you are able to offer a lift, or need a lift, please let us know. We need at least six people and two cars (train is not an option) to make this work so please book now.
Club members take part in this event at their own risk, click here for details. Brockwell Swimmers reserve the right to decide who is capable of taking part in the swim.
